Vancouver City, Lookout & Capilano tour review
My verdict: this is the cruise-passenger tour and the one-day-in-Vancouver tour, and on those two jobs it is the best value of the guided options. Six and a half hours, two admissions in the price, and it covers the city first so Capilano lands as the finish rather than the whole point. What it does not do is Grouse Mountain — for that you want the seven-hour combo.
How the day runs
The route works through Gastown and Chinatown, then Stanley Park and Granville Island, then up to the Vancouver Lookout deck, and finishes at Capilano. That order is deliberate and it is the right one: you get the city laid out from the Lookout before you cross the water, so the North Shore mountains you have been staring at all morning have names by the time you are standing under them.
There are around 81 downtown hotel pickup points, which is a narrower net than the Grouse tour casts — this one assumes you are staying downtown or arriving by ship. Both admissions are in the price, and that is where the value sits: two paid attractions plus a guide plus a coach for less than the seven-hour tour costs. What you give up is time. Capilano is the last stop on a six-and-a-half-hour day, and the park normally takes two to three hours on its own.
